DMCA Copyright Policy

Convertaverse complies with Title 17, Section 512 of the U.S. Copyright Act. We honor valid takedown requests, provide clear counter-notice procedures, and enforce a strict repeat-infringer policy.

Our Role as a Service Provider

Convertaverse is an online service provider under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). Our role is to respect the intellectual property rights of creators while giving our users the tools they need to convert their own files.

Repeat-Infringer Policy

Convertaverse will terminate or suspend accounts that are determined to be repeat infringers. We maintain an internal record of DMCA actions to identify patterns of misuse. Severe violations may result in immediate removal without warning.

Submitting a DMCA Takedown Notice

Your notice must include all of the following elements:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
  3. Identification of the infringing material and information sufficient for us to locate it.
  4. Your contact information: name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the disputed use is unauthorized.
  6. A statement that the information is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner.

Under 17 U.S.C. §512(f), you may be liable for damages if you knowingly misrepresent that material is infringing.

Filing a Counter-Notification

Use this process if you believe your material was removed by mistake or misidentification.

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material that was removed or disabled and where it appeared before removal.
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that the material was removed or disabled due to mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  5. A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court.

DMCA Process Timeline

Step 1:

Notice Received

Upon receiving a valid DMCA notice, we promptly remove or disable access to the identified material.

Step 2:

User Notified

We notify the account owner or uploader about the takedown and provide key details from the notice.

Step 3:

Counter-Notice (Optional)

The user may submit a counter-notification if they believe the removal was incorrect.

Step 4:

Resolution

Content may be restored after 10–14 business days unless the complainant initiates legal action.

User Responsibilities

  • Only upload files you created or have permission to use.
  • Do not convert files protected by DRM or other technological measures without authorization.
  • First offenses may receive a warning; repeated violations result in account termination.
